Welcome to the Academy
Greenville Health System’s Academy of Leadership and Professional Development provides resources to prepare professionals and executives for new levels of leadership in the field of health care and beyond.
In particular, we are interested in developing core leadership competencies at every level within the organization. Among these competencies is a set of principles and practices that focuses performance through enhanced self-awareness and emotional or social intelligence. At GHS, we refer to this competency as conscious leadership. We strive to weave these concepts into and throughout leadership and professional development by way of specially-designed courses, programs, research, consulting and fellowships.
All programs offered by the Academy are developed and delivered by skilled faculty and industry leaders with an emphasis on creating a dynamic learning environment. Our resources are designed to inspire, encourage and motivate participants while promoting positive change and solutions to everyday challenges.

“We’re recognizing that millennials will make up the majority of employee populations in the next five to 10 years, and their experience tends to be one in which they want to be developed,” says Sharon Wilson, director of Conscious Leadership Development at the Greenville Health System (GHS).
